2 Years and 2000 Posts

Today marks 2 years of writing plugins for RapidWeaver.  On this day in 2005 I released my very first version of Collage.  About two months later Columns came, then Blocks, Accordion, Carousel and just lately PayLoomKwix is next.

I've been writing Mac software, contributing to open source, and generally coding for fun since the 80s -- even before my Macintosh 512Ke, before the internet, and way before the Web.  YourHead came into being in the mid 90s and some pretty crude shareware followed.  But in all that time nothing has even come close to the last couple years.  In so many ways it's been the best time of my life.  The unique combination of community, geeky techy code, art and even a little drama makes the RapidWeaver experience truly unique.

Amazingly, even after two years I'm still excited at the prospect of writing new plugins.  The possibilities are nearly endless.  And the thought that tens of thousands of people will use my tools to show off their content to hundreds of thousands of people...  well...  who wouldn't feel good about that.

And last but not least I'd like to say thanks to Dan and Ben for coming up with this idea and letting me come along for the ride, the rest of the ever growing RapidWeaver crew for all the help, and especially the forum -- YourHead would be nothing without the community.

P.S.  There's a PayLoom bugfix on its way in just a few hours, a Kwix alpha build could be yours sooner than you think, and 2008 is shaping up to be lots of fun.  I sure hope you're diggin' this as much as I am!

What's Brewing? PayLoom and Kwix

esell_product
PayLoom 1.0 is here: Go get your download.

We've cleaned up the bugs and nailed down the layout code and we're shoving a fledgling 1.0 out of the nest. This version should be substantially more stable and have some significantly improved layout. If you've been using the PayLoom beta you should definitely grab a copy and upgrade. And if you've been holding off, waiting until the beta tests were done then you're wait is over. Download a copy today and start selling this afternoon.

Don't forget that big screencast a did a few days back. If you need a jump-start then this is it! It runs from installation to publish with a whole lot of web-store in between. Check it out.

YourHead Labs
We've been brewing up some fun new pages back at the lab. They're not done yet. We're hoping the new page arrives before the holidays, but it's hard to say for sure. What we do know is that you can have a sneak peak on some of the first output.

OK, here's the link, but you have promise not to tell anyone what you see. It's called the Kwix.
